Why We Aim to Be a Self-Contained Process Company
We began this activity in 2020 after encountering and strongly resonating with the book “Toyota’s Self-Contained Process” several years earlier.
We aim for this so that we can “only make good products,” “only do good work,” and “become a company that can respond to change.”
If we can build a system where following the procedure manual means we can only make good products and only do good work, we can respond even when special demand creates labor shortages, dramatically improve productivity and make a major contribution to leaner management.
Effects of Self-Contained Process Activities
- Prevent loss of motivation caused by rework
- Turn tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge
- Establish methods that always work when followed
- Create a chain of decision-making in work
- Visualize all internal processes
